  2.                       SAMM LOCAL BBS PHONE DIRECTORIES
  3.  
  4. Welcome to the this edition of the SAMM-sponsored local BBS directories.  A
  5. goal of SAMM (Sysops Association of Mid-Michigan) is to encourage users to
  6. call BBSs.  As part of the encouragement, SAMM has put together a list of
  7. local BBSs.  Please note that we are not limiting this publication to only
  8. SAMM boards.  We will compile these lists of all known operating boards in
  9. the Tri City (Bay City, Midland, and Saginaw) area.  In coordination with
  10. this list, SAMM is releasing dialing directories for virtually all of the
  11. popular telecommunications programs. Contained in this set of files are
  12. dialing directories for all the popular MS-DOS (IBM compatible) programs.
  13. Below is a listing of the files contained in this archive and which
  14. telecommunications program the directory is for. Please note that if you
  15. simply copy the enclosed directory to your telecommunications program
  16. directory, you will most likely overwrite any existing directory you have
  17. there.  Therefore it is recommended that you follow one of the following
  18. procedures:
  19.  
  20. 1) Make a backup of your current dialing directory, giving it a different
  21. name, then copying the enclosed dialing directory to your telecommunications
  22. program directory, or
  23.  
  24. 2) Rename your current dialing directory, then copy the enclosed dialing
  25. directory to your telecommunications program directory, or
  26.  
  27. 3) Rename the enclosed dialing directory, then copy it to your
  28. telecommunications program directory.
  29.  
  30. Most telecommunications programs have the ability to use more than one
  31. dialing directory.  A good idea would be to keep this directory for your
  32. local calling, and another directory for your long distance calling.
  33.  
  34. SAMM plans to issue monthly updates to this list and directories.  Any
  35. questions, comments, errors, etc... can be reported to any SAMM BBS.  See
  36. the end of this file for a list of current SAMM boards.

  38. If you are a new sysop, and would like your board to be placed in the local
  39. BBS list and added to the dialing directories, call the Wolverine BBS at
  40. 695-9952 and leave a message to the sysop there.
  41.  
  42. We like to issue dialing directories in other computer formats (i.e Amiga
  43. and Commodore) as well.  We will be need volunteers for the Commodore
  44. directories as we would like to develop directories for programs such as
  45. DesTerm, NovaTerm, BobsTerm Pro, and MultiTerm.  If you use any of these and
  46. are willing to help compile the directory, contact any SAMM sysop.  If you
  47. own another computer type (Apple, Macintosh, or Atari ST) and would like to
  48. help compile a directory, contact any SAMM sysop.
